Tn-C-S Distribution System

Tn-C-S Distribution System

TN-C-S: TN-C-S denotes a setup where the supply side of the system uses a combined PEN conductor for earthing, and the load side of the system uses a separate conductor for PE and N. This type of earthing is used in distribution systems in both Australia and New Zealand and is frequently referred to as multiple earth-neutral (MEN).

In a TN-C-S system the neutral and earth are combined within the supply and separate within the installation. The means of earthing is provided from the combined protective and neutral conductors of the supply i.e. a PME earthing terminal. In a TT system there is no earth terminal provided from the supply and an earth is provided by separate earth …

4/9/2018  · TN- C-S system : neutral and protective functions are combined in a single conductor in a part of the system … The IT distribution system has all live parts isolated from earth or one point connected to earth through an impedance, the exposed-conductive-parts of the electrical installation being earthed.

10/6/2020  · tn-c- s. The latter is very common as it allows the single-phase loads to be supplied by phase and neutral with a completely separate earth system connecting together all the exposed conductive parts before connecting them to the PEN conductor via a main earthing terminal which is also connected to the neutral terminal.
